My name is Liv Baughman; this is my portfolio.
Game Designer. Digital Artist.
My name is Liv Baughman and I have a BS in Game Design from DePaul University in Chicago IL. I have been playing and creating games my whole life. I chose games because of their ability to transcend artistic mediums and combine them into something entirely new. My ambitious goal as a game designer is to create a perfect harmony between noise, composition, art, design, music, technology, and play.

Games.
I am interested in games for their role in art, play, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, music, and rest. Games possess the unique ability to blend artistic mediums in innovative ways. The ever-evolving landscape of games presents exciting opportunities to craft experiences that transcend entertainment. I want to contribute to this evolution by creating games that are immersive artistic experiences.

Star-Wired
My Senior Capstone Project, Star-Wired, is a collaborative effort involving a dev team of seven and a sound team of two. This project is currently in development utilizing Unreal Engine. Star-Wired is a captivating puzzle game within the intricate circuitry of Captain Bit's sentient Spaceship.

Dance Till U Drop
Dance 'Till U Drop is an experimental rhythm game and a love letter to the Chicago music scene. Created in Unity using C#. Dance 'Till U Drop is about being a good friend and supporting great art!

Heartbr<3ken
Heartbr<3ken is a game made in Unity utilizing C#. It is a multi-playstyle game emphasizing story, art, music, and mood. All assets are hand-drawn by me to create a lofi/bedroom style feel. Be ready to reminisce about your first breakup and play games on your Windows 95 computer.
more coming soon :3..................................
Animations.
Recently I have stepped into the world of Animation. I enjoy the focus and detail required to create movement from still images and hope to continue to explore this medium. I am particularly drawn to frame-by-frame and hand-drawn animation. I want to bring more of my creatures to life and I hope to incorporate both traditional and unconventional styles of animation into my games.
The Artist
This is a multi media frame by frame animation I created as a final for my class, ""Animation for Non-Majors" to the song Story of an Artist by Daniel Johnston. I hoped to capture the feeling of "just enough" so that the audience fills in the blanks of the full picture.

No Rats
I created this work for the same class. I used Adobe Photoshop to create a puppet and then used Adobe After Effects to animate his walk cycle. With this project, I wanted my character's walk to show his arrogance, narcissism, and cognitive dissonance.

Digital Art and Character Designs.
I have had a love and passion for drawing for as long as I can remember. Digital art in particular became the subject of my obsession when I received a Wacom tablet at age 12. Since then, I have not stopped creating in programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate. My artistic inclination leans towards the uncanny, childish, playful, outsider, comedic, and creepy.
